What is Creator Studio?

Print on demand means only printing what has been sold. Everything is automated for a process that uses less energy and materials. The beauty for you is zero investment up front and no wasted stock, meaning better economics and reduced carbon footprint per product. With print on demand you can create unlimited artwork designs for different products and scenarios, to be responsive and agile in your expressions. Nothing is produced unless someone buys it, which translates as no initial investment from your side and no overproduction.

What is print on demand?

To buy a product for sampling or to wear straight away, please follow these easy steps.

First, ensure you are logged into your account. Creating an account is quick and hassle-free if you don't have one.

1. Design your desired product.
Before you can purchase, you need to create a product. Using the intuitive tools and options in your MyStudio creator, design a product. Once you’re happy with your design, finalise and save it.

When you get confirmation that your new design is saved, scroll down to order it directly.

3. Select products.
You’ll be taken to an overview of your products currently saved in MyStudio. Select the ones you’d like to order, choosing the colour, size and number of garments desired.

After confirming your product's details, proceed to the checkout process and follow the prompts.

Payment.
For customers in the EU & USA, we accept credit card payments. Invoicing options are available for your convenience if you have a business account with us.


How do I order a sample or buy a product?

Provide your email address and full name to create an account.

After submitting your information, check your inbox for an email from Creator Studio. Open the email and click on the invite link provided.

Choose a secure password and enter it along with your pre-filled email.

Once you have successfully entered your password, you will be logged into MyStudio.

MyStudio is where you can create, order and export your products.

How do I create an account? 

Once you have created an account and you are logged in, and you have a registered company, you can setup your business account.

In the left menu of MyStudio, find the "Setup Business account" option.

Click on "Setup Business Account" to begin the process.

Follow the steps in the wizard to provide your business information accurately. It is crucial to ensure that you provide correct and up-to-date information. For example, you need to fill in the exact registered company name – this is to ensure that the validation process goes faster.

Last, you will be asked to state a brand name. This will be used if you connect to an e-store. You can create as many brands as you want and invite different account users to them.

Validating your information and enabling selling:

After completing the Business Details Wizard, Creator Studio must validate the information you provided. If the information can’t be validated, we will send an email asking for more details, such as proof of company registration, or a VAT number (if you are based in EU).

We manually process your company details, which usually takes up to 48 hours (during business days).

Once your information is verified, the platform is yours to use, and you can start selling within 1-2 days.

Remember to provide accurate and complete information to ensure a smooth experience.

How do I order a sample or buy a product? 

Most of the time, we cannot cancel or change the order since the products are made to order and it is sent to our printing operator as soon as the order is placed.

If you’d like to cancel or change the product, contact our Support Team as soon as possible using our Contact form.

You have a limited time to change your address so please contact our Support Team as soon as possible. We’ll make sure to determine whether or not it’s still possible to make any changes. It can usually be done if we are contacted within 1 hour, but there is no guarantee since the printing operators will receive your order directly after the order has been placed.

Because your order is made to order specifically for you, we have a very limited time to make any changes before it gets sent to production. If you want to change your product to a different item, you’ll need to contact our Support Team and we’ll determine whether or not it’s still possible to make any changes. There is no guarantee since the printing operators will receive your order directly after the order has been placed.

Can I make changes to my order?

No, we do not have any minimum order quantities for bulk orders of printed products. You can place an order for any quantity you need.

Ordering Merch

Firstly, make sure you have created a MyStudio account and added your business details.




 Brands > Your brand > Store.

1. Navigate to "Brands" in the Navigation Bar:
Click on "Brands" located in the navigation bar of Creator Studio. This is your gateway to managing and connecting your brands.
2. Select Your Brand:
Find your brand in the list displayed. Click on it to access the brand details.
3. Access the "Store" Tab:
Once you're in the brand details, head to the "Store" tab. This is where you'll initiate the connection process.

 Connect with Shopify> Connect store > Complete connection.

1. Click "Connect with Shopify":
Within the "Store" tab, you'll find the "Connect with Shopify" button. Click on it to begin the integration process.
2. Enter Your Shopify Store URL:
You will be prompted to enter or copy & paste the URL of your Shopify store. Provide the accurate URL to ensure a successful connection.
3. Click "Connect Store":
After entering the Shopify store URL, click on the "Connect Store" button. This will redirect you to Shopify.

4. Install Creator Studio App on Shopify:
While on Shopify, install the Creator Studio app. Follow the on-screen instructions within Shopify to complete the installation.

5. Return to Creator Studio:
Once the app is installed on Shopify, return to Creator Studio. Your store is now connected!
6. Assign Brands to Your Store:
Proceed to the next step where you can select the specific brands you want to assign to this connected store.
7. Click "Complete Connection":
Once you've made your brand selections, click on "Complete Connection." Your store is now connected, and the assigned brands are integrated.


Connecting your Shopify store

When you have launched your brand in MyStudio and connected your Shopify store, you can start your sales though your Instagram, Facebook, Tiktok and other accounts. Read more about how to set this up with Shopify here:

Start by installing our Shopify plugin. You can follow this 

Once the plugin is installed and connected, go to your product list. For each product, click on the three dots ( ••• ) and select “Export product.” It may take a few minutes for all images and details to transfer to Shopify.

Select which sales channels each product should be available on.

Assign and activate each product for the markets you've set up.

Connect Store

For optimum artwork reproduction, save your artwork as 300dpi before importing it into MyStudio. It is possible though to drop down to 150dpi and still enjoy crisp, legible reproduction. In all cases, we recommend ordering a sample to assess your products before exporting to your e-store.

Please set your artwork to use the RGB colour space before saving them. Our print trials have confirmed that RGB is the optimum setting for our DTG printing process, with the best perceived reproduction of colour. Order a sample of your merchandise to assess artwork quality before taking it live on your store.

Creator Studio accepts the following file formats: gif, jpg, jpeg, png and svg. Please ensure you are using the correct format when importing artwork.

Depending on the type of garment being used, and the collection the apparel belongs to, there are different requirements for the dimensions of your artwork canvas. You can find the required dimensions in pixels when working in your MyStudio creation module. After you have chosen a garment to work with, click the ‘Select artwork’ button to view the maximum canvas size for that blank. Each garment’s maximum canvas size corresponds to the largest possible size your customers can buy, ie. a men's t-shirt in 3XL. Imported artworks will be scaled down automatically for smaller sizes.

When manually scaling down an image in editing software like Photoshop, be mindful to check and remove any semi-transparent pixel borders, to ensure a good outcome during printing. Sampling is always recommended to assess the print outcome prior to taking a product live. In this particular case, we advise sampling in a color way other than white.

Setting up your artwork file

We’ve carried out print tests using serif and sans-serif typefaces in multiple sizes. Our conclusions are that it’s important to use a minimum 7 point size but recommend at least a 9 on serif and sans-serif typefaces for reliable legibility when printed. Order a sample of your product to ensure quality before making it live, and it’s a good practice to order smaller and bigger sizes of a product to check your fonts hold when your artwork is scaled.

For both black on white and white on black, we recommend a minimum of 6 pixels in weight or more for a defined, legible line that holds its own when your artwork is scaled between XS-3XL sized apparel. It is possible to go down to 6 pixels in line weight if you wish, but anywhere lower than that and you may find the outcome lacking in visual punch. We always recommend to order a sample to verify your design comes out as desired. 

Fonts & Line Thickness

Just like printing on paper, it’s almost impossible to produce neon colours on garments that pop as they do on a screen. As a result, don’t expect your neon prints to have the same vibrancy as your digital artwork. 

Here’s an example of the neon print outcome on our DTG machines. As always, we recommend ordering a sample to assess the outcome before offering a product to your fans.

Create Neon colour designs

When using Direct-to-Garment (DTG) printing, the printing technique depends on the color of the garment:

 A white underbase is printed first, followed by the color layer to ensure more vibrant and true-to-color prints.

 Only the color layer is printed, with no underbase.

Since dark garments have a white underbase, gradients may not print well. The white base might show through, affecting the gradient's look.

If you wish to use an artwork with gradient effects, we recommend to choose a light colored garment.

Due to the thin nature of the ink used in DTG printing, light-colored ink is often difficult to see on light fabric. To improve readability and visibility, it's recommended to add a darker background behind your design (if you wish to use a light colored artwork) or preferable, use artworks with darker colors.

When printing black text on a black or dark garment, the white underbase can sometimes make the design appear more grayish rather than truly black. To help the text stand out, it's a good idea to use a white or light-colored background on dark fabrics. A white underbase is used for prints that aren't white themselves, involving layers of white ink followed by a color layer to make the design's colors vibrant.

Design Guidelines

We produce blanks under our brand, True Blanks – this means we have full control over fits, textile composition, details, quality, and can offer a harmonised collection globally. We engineer the blanks all the way from fibre to spinning, to construction and finishing to have the best properties for digital printing. What blank apparel provider do you use?

Garments can be Machine washed at 40 °C however we recommend washing at 30°C for ideal print durability.

To preserve colors and prevent bleeding, wash garments inside out with similar colors.

Do not dry clean or iron directly on the print.

All garments come with a sewn-in care label on the inside seam of the garment. Size labels are sewn into the shoulder seam, and not visible from the outside.

What are the care instructions for the garments?

Our True Blanks garments are white labelled, meaning that you, as a creator, will have a clean canvas to work from, adding your own artwork and logos. We keep the inside labelling to a minimum, with as little as possible visible when viewing the face of the garment. 

We have added our size labels in the inside shoulder seam on all garments to be out of the way for any neck print. Due to production deviations on some previous collections, the size label is attached to the inside side seam care label and, in a few rare cases, attached as a sticker on the garment.

Where can I find the size labels on the garments?

Our journey to responsible merch begins with replacing 'minimum order quantity' to a situation where demand leads supply. Your designs live online until one of your fans makes a purchase, only then will we print the merch. You don't need to hold stock, there's zero waste from overproduction and no startup costs.

Making things to order is great. Making things to order in hubs close to your customers is even better. As a part of Creator Studio, you'll be using True Blanks, our own merch fashion label, made with 100% organic cotton and recycled polyester. Like our chain of print hubs, the entire production chain is owned and controlled by us, so we can monitor and control every stage, to secure the quality of each garment. Engineered for on demand printing, True Blanks is the only apparel used for Creator Studio merchandise, so your fans get exceptional quality as standard.

Your merch will be shipped in fully-recyclable and reusable packaging that's been developed by the H&M Group. Plastic-free without compromising on the protection of its contents, the packaging comes in four sizes to reduce waste and is FSC C117673-certified. To date, 90 million of these packages have been sent, which is a huge step towards a completely plastic-free delivery system.

Our print hubs play a large role in making responsible products, specifically the printers and ink they use. The entire Creator Studio print network uses the latest Kornit Atlas digital printers, among the most advanced and robust print machines in the industry.

Aside from the reproduction of images, the printers use Kornit’s proprietary ink formulation, Neopigment. This ink is water-based and eco-friendly, with an industry-leading white opacity and consistent vibrancy across the colour gamut.

What are you doing to be sustainable and responsible?  

We have several printing hubs across the globe and a stock of blanks – blank garments that are optimised for printing. You can design your customised prints for these garments, and they are only printed when someone puts in an order. This means you customise products and sell them on a per-order basis, under your own brand, and with your own designs. With modern tech and logistics, the product can be printed and delivered to the customer within 2-10 days, and you don’t pay for the cost of the product until after you have actually sold it. This means there is no need to buy in bulk or hold any inventory yourself, which also means less wasted resources.

Print-on-demand (POD) is a business model that allows individuals and companies to sell custom-designed or personalized products, and apparel without the need for upfront inventory. Here's a general overview of how print-on-demand works:

Product Selection: The first step is to choose the type of product you want to offer, such as t-shirts, hoodies or other. POD services typically have a range of products available for customization.

For private customers Creator Studio offers the following payment methods:

Creator Studio offers Business customers to pay shipped orders via invoice. A summary invoice is issued monthly, including all orders that have been shipped in the past month. The invoice is to be paid via bank transfer according to the information stated on the invoice.

As Creator Studio has printing facilities fulfilling orders in several countries, your invoice may come from different legal entities – depending on in which country your order was printed and fulfilled. You may therefore be asked to wire your payment to separate bank accounts depending on where your orders where shipped.

Which payment methods do you offer?

Creator Studio offers business customers a summary invoice issued monthly on the last day of the month, including all orders that have been shipped the past month. You will also in an attachment receive a detailed specification of all orders included on these invoices.

How often do I get invoiced? 

If you are ordering as a private customer, paying by card, the sales VAT will be calculated at checkout. For business customers VAT will be included on you invoice.

Do product prices include VAT? 

VAT will be charged on the invoice to you for sales of goods. The VAT applied on your invoices is depending on; the country of goods origin, the delivery destination country and the provided information about your VAT-registrations in EU.

How do I inform Creator Studio about IP infringement? 

Creator Studio operates a print on demand business model. This means all products are produced upon request when you place an order with us and the product is customised according to your specification. Therefore we do not offer withdrawal of your purchase and general returns. If your received product is faulty or damaged, please contact our customer service.

Terms & Policies

Our aim is to fulfil your order from the printing location closest to you. By doing so we do our best to shorten the delivery time.

As soon as we get your order it is routed to a production facility that meets your specific order's requirements. The order is then picked, processed and packed within 1-3 business days.

Your parcel then begins its journey once it been picked up for delivery by one of our shipping partners. If your order isn’t finished in time for the daily pick-up it will be picked up the next business day.

Business days, including production time, shipping time and customs handling.

 Delivery times are approximate and may be subject to unforeseen delays. In some cases, parcels may arrive earlier than stated. Creator Studio cannot be held responsible for courier errors or delays once an order has left our production hubs. If you feel your delivery has been misplaced or is taking longer than expected, please contact us directly.

In the US, we currently only fulfil online store orders for non-US-based creators. We cannot serve US-based creators at the moment. Read more information 

How long is the delivery time?

Creator Studio will invoice the shipping costs to the Creator. Shipping is calculated based on products ordered and destination. Any import duties and customs administration cost will be directed to the end-customer.

How does shipping work if I sell through an e-store connected to Creator Studio?

We currently have local printing hubs in the EU, in Czech Republic and in the UK. From our EU printing Hub we ship to approximately 200 countries, while our UK print hub supplies customers in the UK.

We are working with expansion to be able to open new local hubs in new markets. Our mission is to have printing hubs as close to the end customer as possible.

Where are the print hubs located?

Shipping costs are calculated per order and is based on the contents of each parcel and the destination country. We have a flat rate for our products, where lighter garments cost less and heavier garments cost more, and each additional garment increases the total cost slightly.
